Our Name

Our climb for social, racial, reproductive, economic, and environmental justice started in 2008 in Vermont, the Green Mountain State, where a 16-year-old left to volunteer for then-Senator Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign in New Hampshire. It continued on a campus known as “The Mountain” and resonated in the “I Have Been to the Mountaintop” speech by Martin Luther King, Jr. echoed through the union hall we organized from in Staten Island, New York on the Bernie 2016 presidential campaign. When it came time to pick a name nearly a decade later, Mountaintop seemed only right.

We find our strength and endurance in the diversity and solidarity of our movements. We climb together, and we rise together.

Who We Are

Oliver Larkin

Oliver Larkin, founder of Mountaintop Strategy, has over a decade of expertise raising over $50 million online for Democratic campaigns and non-profit organizations.

Oliver most recently spent the past four years as the lead digital strategist for Senator Adam Schiff, including during his 2024 U.S. Senate campaign in California. His work has contributed to Reed Awards including Best Use of Email (2024), Best Use of Personalization in Fundraising (2023), and Best Email Subject Line (2022).
